Application for Scientific Committee Members

Tomorrow People Organization invites you to join organizing teams of our conferences in the capacity of Scientific Committee Member and help us create innovative and dynamic learning and networking experiences.

This opportunity is open only to Tomorrow People network of individuals who participated in our past conferences. 

Selected members will be offered:

​
  • Waiver of registration fee for attending the conference (including a guaranteed time slot should they intend to present a paper)
  • Listing in all conference documents as a member of the Scientific Committee, including the website, conference brochure and publication of the conference proceedings
  • Copy of the conference proceedings publication and the conference kit
  • An opportunity to contribute to scientific community by taking an active role in designing and creating a program

The role of a Committee member comprises of:

  •  Abstract Reviewing
Review up to 20 abstracts (200 words each) and, for each of them, provide the Committee with recommendations for acceptance or rejection. The abstracts are being accepted on a rolling admission basis and are to be accepted or rejected within 7 days after they have been received. Meeting deadlines is critical.

  • Full Paper Refereeing
Referee the initial and the revised versions of up to 10 full papers. For each of them, provide, as necessary: suggestions for revision, motives for rejection, or recommendations for acceptance. What is expected here is not only copy editing (correcting spelling, grammar, word usage, etc.), but also and overall content assessment (Is there a clear statement of the research question? Is the research method or approach relevant? Was it properly executed? Are there mistakes, unclarities, lacks or problems? Are the results consistent with the research design? etc). 

  • Working closely with the organizing team on designing the overall conference program, defining topics to be covered in panel
discussions and identifying potential speakers and panelists.​

Requirements:
  • Experience as an educational researcher
  • Experience as a referee
  • Familiarity with various areas related to the conference topics
  • Excellent command in English language 
  • Good command in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word, especially the Track Changes mode and the Insert Comment function of Word
  • Availability to perform the reviews within the above specified periods of time.
