This is an innovative and exciting opportunity for individuals interested in education and development. This conference will provide unlimited resources and opportunities to interact with prominent scholars in the field and greatly expand on your existing global network.
The 2011 Conference will address the following: The importance of education and its strong correlation with economical, political and democratic development, educational systems around the world, and the role of education in achieving MDGs. And much, much more!
"If the misery of the poor be caused not by the laws of nature, but by our institutions, great is our sin." Charles Darwin
The topic of this Conference is inspired by unequal distribution of resources that causes poverty and vulnerability of people. Poor people are especially vulnerable, they have few buffers or resources to cope with hazards or shocks. Yet they are significantly more likely to be affected by ill-health, unemployment, trade shocks, climate change, famine or conflict. Sustainable poverty reduction can only be achieved and managed effectively if vulnerability is better understood.
This Conference aims to identify and develop responses to vulnerability that gives greater agency and voice to the vulnerable and the poor, and engages policymakers and practitioners.
