When should I arrive?
You
should arrive in Bangkok on Thursday, 21 June 2007, and be at the
“First Hotel Bangkok" no later than 1 p.m.
When should I
depart?
We
kindly ask you not to depart before the afternoon of Saturday, 23
June 2007. Participants are expected to be in attendance during
the entire Conference.
Are
only women eligible to apply for the Conference?
No.
Women's Leadership and Empowerment Conference 2007 is open to all those
interested in the fields of leadership and women’s studies.
Where does the
Conference take place?
The
Conference will take place at “First Hotel Bangkok"—a
quality three-star hotel conveniently located in one of
Bangkok’s best commercial areas, with easy access to both
downtown and the international airport.
Where will I be accommodated during
the Conference?
We offer you
accommodation in “First Hotel Bangkok” (www.firsthotelbangkok.com
), which is where the Conference will take place. This is a
quality three star hotel located in one of Bangkok’s best
commercial areas, with easy access to both downtown and the
international airport. All rooms are equipped with private bath,
AC, telephone and TV. WLC 2007 participants are entitled to
special discounted rates: 17 US dollars per person per night for
shared standard double room or 34 US dollars for a standard single room, breakfast and tax
included.
Alternatively,
you are free to make your own accommodation arrangements.
Will I have to stay in the hotel?
No, you can
arrange accommodation on your own, in which case you pay only the Conference fee without accommodation included.
How
will I be accommodated in the hotel?
Most
rooms are doubles. However, there is a certain number of single
rooms available, at a higher price. If there is someone in
particular you would like to room with, please specify this in the
confirmation form that you will receive in the invitation package.
If you have no preference, you will be placed in a room with a
person of the same sex and approximate age.
Is it possible to stay in the hotel before or after the
Conference?
Yes,
we will be happy to book a hotel room for you, provided that you
inform us about your plans in a timely manner.
What does the Conference fee cover?
The
conference fee covers all sessions including key note speakers’
presentations and a special panel discussion, conference supplies
and accompanying materials, all lunches and coffee breaks during
the Conference, a networking dinner, a closing cocktail, and a
certificate issued by Tomorrow People Organization.
Is
the Conference fee reimbursable?
If you withdraw
your participation in the Conference by 1st April 2007, all fees
minus the non-
refundable deposit will be reimbursed to you. For further
information, please check the section "registration
fees".
If the Conference is
postponed or canceled, we will refund all fees including the
deposit.
Do
I have to submit and present a paper?
No,
paper submission and presentation is not mandatory. You can
choose to take part in the Conference as an observer only.
What is the dress code?
There
is no official dress code, but we suggest business casual attire.
Visa
Visa
assistance will be provided on request. For those requiring visa,
please specify this in the on-line application form and make sure
that your name, address or fax number, and passport number are
correct.
Payment
You
will be asked to send the deposit of 100 US dollars along with the
confirmation form. It is due two weeks after you have received the
acceptance packet. The remaining amount is
due by in accordance to the payment plan you will received along
with your invitation to attend the Conference.
