to GEC 2007
We cordially invite you to join
us for three days in the beautiful city of Belgrade, the capital
of country with one of the fastest developing economies in
Europe, where
you will have the opportunity to learn about current global
entrepreneurial opportunities and share personal experiences and
ideas with other enthusiastic entrepreneurial minds and masters
from around the world!
This three-day program consists of
three components: panel sessions dedicated to global and regional
entrepreneurial opportunities, presentations of submitted papers and mediated
open discussions. In
your papers and presentations, we encourage you to incorporate
your own entrepreneurial experiences as much as possible. We
especially welcome papers/ presentations in which you share
your own concrete business ideas, whether or not they have been
tested out yet. Discussions will generally take place at the end
of the day and will allow participants to provide feedback on the
day’s presentations. In addition, daily discussions will cover
key entrepreneurial concepts, both from the theoretical and the
practical perspectives. These include but are not limited to: the
business plan, financing, assembling the team, entrepreneurial
marketing, starting form scratch, intrapreneurship, social
entrepreneurship, regional and global entrepreneurial trends and
opportunities, etc. More on this available under “topic”.
Overall, the Conference will
benefit its participants on at least six different levels:
First,
it will equip them with some key entrepreneurial concepts,
dispelling the myths and pointing out the ‘musts’ of
entrepreneurship. We
seek to promote not only an entrepreneurial, but also an ethical,
culture—to learn from our fellow participants’ experiences,
not to steal their ideas.
Second,
through learning and interaction, it will encourage the
participants to develop their own ideas and provide them with the
training necessary for implementing them. We especially seek to
motivate young people; we cultivate the value of personal
initiative.
Third,
it will allow the participants to acquire new contacts world-wide,
thus becoming part of a global network of entrepreneurs for life.
Our special emphasis is on cross-cultural learning and
interaction, as is evident in our selection of participants and
venue.
Fourth,
the Conference will allow companies’ representatives to share
their companies’ successes and/or their personal successes as
innovators.
Fifth,
it will teach those interested in social entrepreneurship such as
NGO representatives how to reconcile the commitments to the social
mission and their financial returns.
Sixth,
it will allow the participants to learn about the favorable
business conditions in certain regions/countries and industries as
well as about the existing entrepreneurial and investment
opportunities.
And last but not least, the
Conference is a great opportunity for all those with an
inquisitive and open mind and a desire to acquire new knowledge,
make friends, and enjoy the beautiful city of Belgrade!
